came together in Paris to sing against
fundamentalism. A beautiful singer-songwriter
from Algiers, Souad Massi, made her dazzling
debut and her original repertoire and powerful
on-stage charisma brought the house down. The buzz reached the ears of a major record label’s artistic director, who rushed to sign up the young unknown and Souad went on to sign a contract for her fi rst album RAOUI (Storyteller), which put her on the musical map.
